It goes without saying how important a leader of a community is. Today, God talks to Moses about the rules ‘the priests, the sons of Aaron’ must follow.
What God means by this is that ‘leaders must be holy’.
In 1 Peter, Chapter 2, it is said of those who believed in Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, ‘you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s special possession’.
This refers to ‘the priests, the sons of Aaron’ in today’s passage, and also refers to us.
God is giving us the same message through today’s Words.
He tells us to be different from unbelievers and to set good examples for others.
Why should we have to live with this burden? It is because we have received God’s calling.
Therefore we mustn’t profane God’s name through our actions.
We mustn’t lead others to temptation through what we do.
I sincerely hope that we diffuse the fragrance of Christ through our actions and speech today.

6 They must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God. Because they present the food offerings to the Lord, the food of their God, they are to be holy.
