Jesus chose to train His disciples through the method of seeing and learning in the real world rather than through textbooks. And He became a role model of serving and loving His neighbours, and looking after those that were suppressed and in pain.
Jesus was surely a role model for His disciples. So the author of Hebrews tells us to imitate our leaders of faith and not those who are successful and influential in society, nor those that are famous and respected.
And He also tells us to imitate Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever.
I want the role model of our children to be Jesus and for us to live a life of discipleship, striving to be more and more like Him.

Passage: Hebrews 13:1-8
1 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.
2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
