‘Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.’ What is being referred to by ‘what we hope for’?
It is not referring to what we want, what we are imagining or wishing for. The faith of hope that comes from within us is not true faith.
So then, what are we to hope for!
We are to hope for the things from God. We must hope and wish for the things from the Word of God. This is true hope.
When we have faith in the promises of God’s Word and obey, God is pleased with us, just as when our forefathers held on to God’s promises, they became great people.
What is God’s promise to you today? Let us have faith in His promises and live a victorious day.
Passage: Hebrews 11:1-7
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
