The first person Jesus visited after resurrection was Mary Magdalene who had been previously possessed by a demon. Then Jesus met two disciples who were going to Emmaus. After seeing the resurrected Jesus, Mary and the two disciples were so happy that they went and spread the news to everyone who Jesus stayed with and his eleven disciples. However they did not believe this.
Why could the people not believe that Jesus had risen from the dead? This was because they did not have enough spiritual power in them to understand God’s work, and therefore they could not believe that Jesus was alive again. This is why we need to pray every day for our spiritual eyes to be opened, so that we can carry the gospel and live a life of being Jesus’ witness, like Mary and the two disciples.

10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.
11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
