A cornerstone is a foundation stone which is placed in the corner of a building and joins two buildings together. A large pillar is set upon the cornerstone making it an important part of the building. The Jews who were caught up in their greed did not realise that this was how important Jesus was and commits a sin of crucifying Him. Greed leads to death.
When our desire for success enters our hearts we must remember one thing; God’s will. God’s will and way are often different to ours but we must learn to fathom His will that is much greater than we think. When we lower ourselves and humbly come to God, He will raise and invite us to His great plans.
Passage: Mark 12:1-12
9 “What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.
10 Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:
“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
11 the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”
