          • Prejudice

Jesus had been traveling to various places performing miracles and treatments when he has an unusual experience in His hometown. It was the people there that didn’t accept Jesus despite witnessing His amazing knowledge and miracles. They had prejudice against Jesus and it prevented them from realizing who He was.

There are various kinds of prejudice and rumors in today’s world and they create a relationship wall in our hearts. It prevents us from becoming close with someone and prevents God to work in us. We must be careful of preconceptions and be careful not to be too quick to judge others and be cautious of what we say. Otherwise, we too may become a subject of prejudice one day.

            Passage: Mark 6:1-13

2 When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.
“Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing?
3 Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.
4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.”

            1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God’s message to you?
            3. What do you need to obey?
            4. What are you grateful for today?
