David emphasises that building a temple is a very important task while also emphasising the life of a true Christian.
No matter how beautiful the temple built is, God is not happy if the Israelites live a life out of God’s Word.
This applies the same to us today.
God has taken us in as his children.
As God’s children, our lives must be different to our lives of the past.
I hope we become people who try to live a life as a child of God.
Passage: 1 Chronicles 28:1-10
9 “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
10 Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.”
