An 'idol' is something that I rely more on their God. An 'idol' is something you 'love' and cannot give up on. Anyone who makes idols is being futile. Idols have no worth and cannot be used anywhere. Those who worship idols have eyes that are spiritually blind and are ignorant people. God hates these people who worship idols. God does not help these people.
Is there something you think is more important than God? If there is, it could put you in a dangerous situation.
Break away from this dangerous 'idols' and rely on God.
Passage to read: Isaiah 44:9-20
9 All who make idols are nothing,
and the things they treasure are worthless.
Those who would speak up for them are blind;
they are ignorant, to their own shame.
18 They know nothing, they understand nothing;
their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see,
and their minds closed so they cannot understand.
19 No one stops to think,
no one has the knowledge or understanding to say,
“Half of it I used for fuel;
I even baked bread over its coals,
I roasted meat and I ate.
Shall I make a detestable thing from what is left?
Shall I bow down to a block of wood?”
Questions to think about:
1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God telling me?
3. What do I need to be obedient with?
Write down your thankful prayer.
