I remember a participant of the Receiving Jesus meeting saying this, "Even if I want to go to church, there is no one I can look up to", " If I go to church, I don't want to believe like those people…"
Also some people say..
" I really don’t know yet, but I attend because I love the people who attend."
The reason why non believers do not receive the gospel is because the power of the gospel is not reflected through the lives of Christians. It is because they feel that Christians are no different to them. The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. It is a time to remember that there is no power if the Gospel cannot be shared through life.
Passage to read: 1 Corinthians 4:9-21
15 Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me.
20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
Questions to think about:
1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God telling me?
3. What do I need to be obedient with?
