Hezekiah spread out the letter that were from the Assyrian messengers before the Lord and prayed to the Lord. All followers of Christ should be able to lay down their hardships and problems before God through prayer. Whatever it may be..
However, the ultimate goal of prayer is not just to solve the problems and difficulties but to reveal the glory of God.
Passage: Isaiah 37:1-20
14“Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD. And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD: “ LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. Give ear, LORD, and hear; open your eyes, LORD, and see; listen to all the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God. “It is true, LORD, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste all these peoples and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands. Now, LORD our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, LORD, are the only God. ””
Isaiah 37:14-20 NIV
1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning, when you were eating?
2.What is God’s message to me through His word today?
3. What was it that I obeyed to because I thought Jesus was telling me to do it today?
4. What was I disobedient to in the message given to me today?
