Modular Building Construction
As our church continues to grow, we are increasingly facing challenges due to a lack of space. Although we have purchased the Vision Centre to use for parking and some meeting areas, we still feel the limitations in available space.
On Sundays, when there are guest speakers or visitors, we do not have a space to hold meetings after the first service, so meetings are only held in the Preschool Room after the second service. In addition, there is a severe shortage of space for the education and activities of children and the youth ministry on Sundays. Currently, the youth group even holds their Friday house church meetings inside the church bus. We also need a dedicated space for singles’ house church meetings. On top of this, various departments have their own space needs.
To help address some of these space issues, we began installing a modular building in April. This building is intended to be used by the youth group on Fridays for their house church meetings, for Korean School classes on Saturdays, and by the Sunday School and youth group on Sundays. The current Preschool Room will be relocated and decorated inside the modular building, and the existing Preschool Room will be repurposed into a Pastoral Care Room. The reason for this change is to provide a dedicated space for meetings and pastoral counselling, especially when guest speakers or visitors visit on Sundays.
Our goal is to complete the modular building construction before the Children's Creation Science Camp in July. However, there is still a lot of work left to be done. We need to install flooring, complete the roofing, set up heating and cooling systems, and furnish the spaces with tables, chairs, shelves, and other necessary items. Before use, we also need to clean the interior and remove the protective plastic film from the wall panels.
This modular building will be completed through your generous building fund offerings and support. The costs have exceeded the original budget, and there is still much to do. In addition to tasks that require professional expertise, we also need volunteers for indoor cleaning, removing protective films from the panels, and decorating the interior spaces. We sincerely ask for your volunteer help and financial contributions.
Word of the week
Some people have been walking through the unit complex across from the church to get to Woolworths. However, the units in front of the church are private property, so to avoid causing inconvenience to the neighbouring residents, please take a different route.
