          • An e-mail from Pastor Young-Ki Choi – Regarding the registration of existing believers who are new to the church
There has been a change in the registration of existing believers who are new to the church, and it was detailed in the 153 prayer e-mail sent by Pastor Young-Ki Choi, the first director of the housekeeping service, so I am posting it in this column.
In order not to waste energy that should be focused on evangelism for non-believers, House Churches have been refusing or limiting the registration of existing believers that come from another church. (In old House Churches, shepherds and shepherds’ wives themselves refused the registration of existing believers from another church because they experienced difficulties due to the difference between House Church’s goals and the existing believer’s previous church’s goals.)
However, there are those who have a dream for the New Testament Church even among Christian believers. In order to give these people a chance, it is necessary to grant conditional registration. Conditions vary from House Church to House Church, but it seems to be a common requirement to attend Receiving Jesus meetings, attend living life Bible study, and house church meetings.
However, if the registration is permitted with the condition of attending house church meetings, it is often difficult when they do not attend after promising to attend, or even when they attend, they caused difficulties for shepherds and shepherds’ wives.
            So, I have a suggestion.
It is to not make attending house church meetings as a condition for registration, but to permit registration after attending the house church meetings for a while. I think 4 to 12 weeks of attending house church meetings would be appropriate.
And when the designated period is filled, consider having the shepherd apply for the person’s registration instead of the individual applying for registration. In this way, it can be confirmed that they have attended the house church meetings for a certain period of time, and when they know that registration is in the hands of the shepherd, those who want to register will respect the shepherd's authority. (Applying for the registration after a certain period can not only be about house church meetings, but also can be applied to Receiving Jesus meetings or living life Bible studies.)
However, instead of accepting registration with the condition of attending house church meetings, having the person attend house church meetings for a period of time first, and having the shepherd apply for registration, rather than the person applying themself, is expected to bring many positive results. Please seriously consider it.
