Required Sunday united ministries
It is difficult for the required Sunday united ministries to occur each week if there are only a few volunteers for these ministries. So, as individual volunteering is not enough, I am providing directives for house churches to participate in the united ministries. Since we are able to freely choose which Sunday worship service we attend, it can become difficult for house church members to gather and attend the same service together. There may also be cases where the service overlaps with the personal ministry you have already volunteered for, or it may overlap with another event at church. In these cases, we will allow two or three house churches to co-operate and work together.
Currently, the essential Sunday united ministries have been divided into the following three ministries:
1. Worship service preparation: is about welcoming attendees prior to the service commencement and regarding preparations for the worship service. This ministry assists the Welcoming team by welcoming attendees, preparing and placing the offering basket in the offering box, bringing the offering basket to the front of the church during service, placing commitment cards at the seats at the front, and preparing water for the pulpit.
2. Hygiene management: is related to before and after the worship service. Ensuring the Tree of Life hall, education hall, outside tent, outdoor tables and chairs are all hygenic, checking the toilets, emptying the bins in the toilets and replacing toilet paper. This can be done prior to the service for the first service, and after the service for the second service and ANW service.
3. Safety management: is a ministry that provides safety before and after the church services. Brothers will manage parking at the church entrance and the parking lot, and sisters will manage children’s safety before and after the service. As there have been constant issues related to child safety before and after the worship service, please do not allow children to enter the parking lot alone before and after the worship and ensure children only play in the children’s play area.
There may be additional weekly ministries that may be required. Regardless of the directives to house churches regarding the Sunday united ministries, we will make sure that ministries that require additional assistance will be supported by individual volunteers. Importantly for those that are involved in the united ministries each week, please arrive to church at least 20 minutes before the worship service.
