Restoring the basics: life bible studies
More than two years have passed since COVID began and during that time we have seen cases where, among the weak believers, some have given up on their faith or lost interest in their Christian life and their faith has just stopped. House churches have also been going through a period of stagnation through which salvation of the lost has not been occuring and Receiving Jesus meetings, baptisms and testimonies have become less frequent. Just like when you fall into a slump, you need to re-establish the basics to recover, after COVID, there is a need to take the time to review and strengthen the basics in order to recover our individual faith and to recover saving of the lost in our house churches.
This year, under the theme: “Remain in Me” (John 15:5), we are laying the groundwork through bible training, so it is necessary to review the basics of these life bible studies. Looking at the applicants so far, the participation rate is still very low. Life bible studies are important training that helps us to develop knowledge, affection and faith in order to spiritually grow and mature. Life bible studies will be grouped and divided into the first half and the second half of the year and we hope many people will be able to participate.
I would like to introduce the life bible studies open for the first half of the year:
Living Life Bible Study: solidifies the basic foundation of faith. You must retake the course every 5 years. This is because of the rate of absorption. After five years, we remember less than 10% of what we learnt. If it has been more than 5 years since you have studied this course, please apply to study this again.
New Life Bible Study: is a life bible study related to training in the values of the kingdom of God. The textbook has been newly translated by the house church ministry, so it is easier to study. If you have finished the Living Life Bible Study, please apply for this course.
Life of Holiness: consists of 13 types of training in holiness to help with spiritual training and spiritual maturity.
The Life of Prayer: is a practical course in learning about intercessory prayer.
The Life of a Shepherd/Shepherd’s Wife: is a life bible study for shepherds and shepherd’s wives to help them in their ministry with a focus on case studies.
Shepherds and shepherd’s wives should not just focus on teaching but also need time to recharge by learning.
It is a wonderful blessing that such diverse life bible studies are continuously being provided at our church. I hope you will not miss this opportunity of blessing and hope many of you will participate.
