There is a hard battle to fight in our lives and in ministries, and it is a fight against ourselves. What causes your life to fall apart is not external, but within us. Our lives become a failure when we are unable to look after our inner selves. We must fight against ourselves in order to keep ourselves self-disciplined, have the right thoughts in our heads, and walk in the right path. However, it’s easy to neglect this inner fight because it’s not obvious or visible, and our busy lives prevent us from realising how we appear in God's eyes.
Above all else, we must observe our hearts and motives towards God. Our hearts are not corrupt from the beginning, we gradually go off the wrong path as we spend less and less time observing our inner selves and neglect the battle within us.
We fail to see our weak, helpless selves and let ourselves become superior to God. We let our situations and circumstances distress us in our lives and ministries.
When we fail to see our inner selves, we fail to see the enemy’s attack. Satan attacks us internally- through our vulnerabilities within us. Satan will make us think highly of our own selves and make us arrogant. Even Christians who lead a faithful life involved in ministries, can forget how they appear to God once they abandon their internal fight. Our ministries may not be affected by the absence of our fight against ourselves, but we gradually forget how we are to appear before God and become a failure to Him. This is what makes our fight challenging. We need to set aside time to reflect upon ourselves in God. We must continue to look inside our hearts and continue the battle. This is how we protect our lives and how we have victory in our lives and ministries.
This week’s message
“Let us succeed at our worship. God seeks true worshipers and we must give our all from the beginning to the end. The success of our worship will lead to the success of our lives.”
