          • Plans for children’s mokjang

We are getting ready to start children’s mokjang this year. There are two types of faith training for children and the first is “Olive Blessing”. This is a time when adults pray with and bless their children during the gathering, and I am grateful that this is regularly done in our mokjangs. Second is ‘Children’s mokjang’. In children’s mokjang, they will learn the gospel and practice living a life of service. Through children’s mokjang, we will be able to see children maturing in their lives as believers.
In order to start children’s mokjang, the following must be ready:

First is our determination within our mokjangs to start a mokjang for children. Once an adult mokja selects a potential child mokja (Year 3 onwards), we will start a trial children’s mokjang. When a child mokja is appointed, everyone including adults must address them as ‘mokja’. This will help give the child a sense of responsibility.
Second is paying a price to run children’s mokjang. Children’s mokjang is made possible thanks to an excellent teaching material called “Durano’s Children’s Bible Creativity Activity Book”. This book allows children to read the Bible by topic and do activities that involve making and sharing. Children will be able to learn the flow of the Bible in two years with this book and it can be purchased at our church. We will also require financial support for other materials.
Thirdly, training children mokjang leaders. We need people besides Sunday school teachers to teach and instruct children to run their own mokjang. They will be training children and going through the materials with the children to prepare them as leaders, and this will take place after the morning and afternoon services. Assistant pastor Park Changyeon who is in charge of Sunday School will visit children’s mokjangs and identify their challenges, and assist in overcoming them.

I look forward to everyone’s prayer and cooperation in starting children’s mokjang this year.

            This week’s message
“If there is no forgiveness in our lives, the door to heaven leading to the grace of God will not open. We are bound to come across unforgivable strife but only when we make a conscious effort to forgive and act upon it will we experience God’s grace.”
