          • Three things to avoid in our mokjang

There are mokjang rules that we all need to remember whether we are new believers or long-timers. I ask everyone to remind themselves of them.
There are three things to avoid doing in a mokjang.
Firstly, do not talk about negative topics. Negative talk about the church in particular can be a huge hindrance to spiritual growth for those with weaker faith. Anyone with suggestions or questions regarding church issues should speak directly to the person in charge or the lead pastor. The reason we start off the meeting by talking about things we are grateful for is because as we share it, the discussion itself becomes positive and bright. This does not mean we should not be sharing the challenges we have had. We can talk about our problems and make prayer requests, but the overall atmosphere of the mokjang moim should always centre around gratitude.
Secondly, we should not talk about people that are not present. This includes other mokjang members. We should not be saying anything negative, even discretely, or say anything that can start a gossip, and if it is something you would not comfortably say in front of them, you should not say anything at all.
Lastly, anything discussed in a mokjang moim stays in the group. People are only able to have a genuine, heart-to-heart talk when they can trust one other to keep it to themselves. Should you talk to people outside your mokjang about what was discussed, you not only lose people’s trust, but you end up hurting others as well.
