In every church, it’s important to have good workers building the body of Christ-the church, and the church will grow and strengthen through its workers.
Last year, we decided to elect additional ordained deacons at this year’s anniversary week. I’m sure we will be electing many more people for various ministries but this year’s election will set the bar for the future. For the future of Sydney Crystal Church, the basic principles of appointing various titles are as follows:
First, they must be confident that the core mission of the church is to save lost souls and make disciples of them and must believe that they have received this calling from God.
Secondly, they must believe that Christ is the Lord of the church and be faithful to their role and be an obedient servant.
Thirdly, they must acknowledge that having a title in the church does not give them authority, rather they are expected to lower themselves and serve others. They must become a role model for other members of the church and proactively and willingly serve.
Lastly, they must have a clear conscience, and hold the mystery of the faith, and be a good leader in their family.
With the above principles, we had conducted a survey regarding the policies in appointing titles, and our steering committee reviewed and edited it accordingly. Once we have everyone’s approval in the next mokja meting, we will be implementing the policy. The appointment process is available on the website for everyone in the church to read.
