Member registration at SCC
In order to become a registered attendee of our church, you do not necessarily have to believe in Jesus, but be willing to attend and participate in church service. You also need to belong to a mokjang. You first need to have a meeting with the pastor and register as an attendee at the end of the service.
Formally registered members of the church receive entitlements to various ministries in the church, voting rights, and rights to participate in decision-making processes. It also indicates that you have a responsibility and obligation as a member of the church. In order to become an official member, you need to be baptized, complete Living Life, and apply for membership.
The steps are as follows:
1. With the help of your mokja, complete and submit the registration form (place your form in the box by the entrance)
2. Your mokja will announce your registration to the rest of the mokjas
3. And once approved by the church, you will be informed of completion of registration
Up until now, the application process hadn’t been formally announced and therefore anyone who has completed their initial meeting with Pastor Song in which they accept Jesus as their Savior, has been baptized and completed Living Life will be accepted as a registered member of the church (if you haven’t completed Living Life, I encourage you to do so for the unity of the church)
Starting this year, we will be encouraging newcomers to go through the aforementioned application process to become an official member of the church and we will also present them with a welcome gift.
